- A Covenant is agreement between two parties
- The Concept of a covenant between God and his people is one of the central themes of the bible
Old Testament
1. God's Covenant with Noah
- AKA - The Noahic Covenant
- God made a covenant with Noah, assuring that he would never again destroy the world flood (Gen.9)
2. Gods Covenant with Abraham
- AKA - The Abrahamic Covenant
- Hod promised to bless Abraham's descendants and make them his own special people -- in return, Abraham was to remain faithful to God (Gen 12:1-3)
3. God's Covenant with Moses
- AKA - The Mosaic Covenant
- After a series of ten plagues upon the land of Egypt, God brought the Israelites out of "Egypt with the great power and with a mighty hand" (Exo.32:11)
